Financial Analyst with accounting experience

Aim of the position

Agendia seeks an enthusiastic and hands on Financial Analyst with accounting experience who is part of a small team responsible for all financial administration / bookkeeping tasks in the company. Agendia seeks a professional who delivers against commitments; works well with people from across the business and constantly seeks ways to do a better job. The Financial Analyst is reporting to and working closely with the Financial Controller of Agendia.

Key responsibilities and tasks

Reporting

• To participate in monthly and yearly financial close process and preparation of monthly management accounts and monthly consolidated accounts: Trail balance and Reporting Package.
• First analysis of management accounts and reviewing with Financial Controller, ensuring all variances versus budget and previous year are understood
• Provide monthly analysis/ reports on actual spending as compared to the budget/ forecasts on a monthly basis in cooperation with the Financial Controller and Business Controller
• Monitor and communicate opportunities and/ or gaps in spending versus corporate objectives
• To produce the monthly lab operations reporting and provide monthly analysis
• To produce the monthly project reporting
• To guide local subsidiaries on proper monthly reporting
• To prepare and coordinate subsidy (yearly) reporting
• To produce ad hoc financial reports for functional areas
• Act as a backup of the Financial Controller

Accounting

• To monitor the monthly financial close for the ROW operations
• To reconcile the revenue accounts to the lab operations reports
• To reconcile the accounts related to the lab operations: CoGS accounts and the R&D accounts.
• To monitor the monthly project administration
• To monitor the tax administration (VAT)
• To prepare the financial annual report (balance sheet, profit and loss accounts)
• To guide the financial administrators
• To set-up and maintain an accounting handbook

Knowledge and required experience

Education:

• Bachelor degree with emphasis in Finance, Business Economics or Accounting required

Skills

• Experience in an international environment required
• Accounting experience is required (Good technical accounting skills)
• Experience with audits
• At least 3-5 years relevant experience
• Good experience with accounting standards (IFRS is pre) and accounting processes
• Knowledge of financial systems (Exact, e-Synergy)
• Microsoft Office tools in particular Excel advanced experience is required
• Fluent Dutch and English (written and spoken)
