Understanding Your Breast Cancer Patient's Complex Tumor Biology is the Key to a Higher Level of Personalized Medicine

Agendia’s Gene Expression Profiling

The MammaPrint microarray chip technology enables the assessment of the 70-gene profile, along with the added benefit of simultaneously evaluating expression of thousands of additional genes.

In addition to the MammaPrint 70-Gene Breast Cancer Recurrence profile, Agendia analyzes 164 breast cancer related prognostic genes, 56 unique drug target genes, 80 molecular subtyping genes, 465 normalization genes and 536 quality control genes —a total of 1,371 individual genes per patient result.

Although these extra genes are not currently reported, Agendia is in essence documenting the unique characteristics, or “print” of particular a woman’s breast tumor.  As the scientific and medical community gains a greater understanding of the role that these supplementary genes play in disease progression and treatment, the data captured may then provide the key to an even greater level of personalized medicine for your patients.
